OPEN STREETS SUMMER SERIES 2026
Open Streets takes over on 100th Street & Lexington ☀️⚽️ every Friday, Saturday & Sunday all summer long. This season the block becomes the place to catch World Cup on Big Screen TV: with live music nights, samba in the streets, community art, DJ mIxtapes, food, and family-friendly programming.

As part of our vibrant Open Streets activities, we are seeking volunteers for a day of community action. We are inviting families, students, youth groups, and neighbors to help beautify our local street tree beds.
Our activities are about revitalizing our neighborhood and honoring the trees that provide us with essential oxygen, shade, and beauty. Trees are sentient beings that deserve our respect and care; life in a concrete environment is difficult, yet they persevere. By coming together to clean, mulch, and plant, we aim to transform our local streets into thriving focal points that make our neighborhood even more welcoming for everyone.
Event Details
Purpose: Comprehensive street tree maintenance and urban beautification as part of our Open Streets initiative and our Love Your Block "Giving the Block Flowers" Community Project.
Mission: To honor our trees and our neighborhood by ensuring their environments remain clean and healthy, reversing the mindset that tree beds are for trash, and creating a more livable urban environment. Prepping the Tree Beds for a Fall Flower Seed Planting.
Theme: Celebrating Neighborhood Pride, inspired by the spirit of LGBT Pride.
Inclusivity: Families, students, youth groups, and individuals are all welcome.
Supplies: All necessary tools and materials will be provided.
Waiver: Please read our required volunteer waiver before participating. Attendance implies consent.
Community Service Hours: Digital verification is available upon request. We provide email confirmations suitable for schools and organizations.
